As you all may know, based off of the name Pizza Peshkopia, I quite enjoy pizza. Growing up with my father owning a pizza place, it is hard for me not to. It is just such an accessible food, there is some kind for everyone, as well as my list of the best places being the only list you need.
Pizza is just such an accessible food. In Hackettstown alone I can think of six off the top of my head as I type this, those being Gabbys, Terranovas, Davillas, Sonnys, and both of the Franks pizzas in town, along with two more who used to be in town, Enzos and my dads pizzeria before he became a breakfast place. All of those places are very good, as most pizza places tend to be. Pizza is also just so easy to make, and anyone can do it. I have made plenty of pizzas in my life, and really all you do is throw on some sauce, some cheese, toppings of you like it, and toss it in the oven until you think it is done, you really can’t mess it up.
Pizza is so customizable. Toppings, sizes, styles, and creating a pizza that a person is maybe bulking or cutting weight can make and enjoy without worrying. According to a chart Business Insider, the most popular toppings go in this order, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, plain, chicken, beef, olives, onions, peppers, tomatoes, anchovies, and “other”. This alone is 11, outside of whatever is included in the other. It comes in any sizes, such as personal, small etc, and styles like New York, deep dish, sicllian, and cauliflower or different types of dough which can be easily used for people into fitness, such as my friend Jeff whom will only eat that because it is not bad for him. The average calories per slice according to Pop Sugar is in the ballpark of 250, so any thing to bring it down can help anybody.
This last part is my favorite part, where I will simply list the best places IMO, in my area (Warren County), a bit of a drive (30-40 minutes), and New York City. The best places in Warren Country in my opinion are Sonnys in Hackettstown, Gabbys in Hackettstown used to easily hold the crown but has gone downhill, Franks which is a sort of chain is solid, but the best IMO is a toss up between my friends dads pizzeria Mondo’s in Randolph, and Canalside in Phillipsburg. My girlfriend put me onto it, and I have not looked back. The only pizza I will highlight in the 30-40 minutes is Millys in Morristown, because nothing else comes close. My friends and I first went there due to seeing a Dave Portnoy pizza review. We tried it at noon after a long night and were shocked by just how delicious it is. It is more of a sitdown places, but has any kind of pizza and all of them are just delicious. New York is known for the New York slice, and my favorite was Joes Pizza on Bleeker Street. My friends and I went there and it was just so cool seeing how well known it is, with so many celeb pictures on the walls, and even being the pizza place Peter Parker works at in the straight up classic movie Spider Man 2.
